Under the Electric Stars is a cyberpunk adventure about Metropolis West, one of the last cities standing after a nuclear war. Caine Reyes, the fastest driver in the Metropolis, has been trying to pay back the debt their family fell into years ago. After their bot gets broken, Caine runs into the rebel group Zero Zero and gets caught up in the rising revolution.

It's no secret that science fiction is a genre that has a history of ignoring people of color and LGBTQ+ people. Stories like Blade Runner or Hugo Award winners from the past borrow the aesthetics of Asian people and then populate their world with white people. I wanted to create a piece of fiction that people like me could see themselves in.

One of my central themes of Under the Electric Stars is that the future belongs to us--to people who have been marginalized throughout history. And I try to make that come through every aspect of it.
